# vagejs guides Step by step, with code that works.

> Step-by-step vagejs guides: choosing a static site generator for AI, a Figma design as a site, more languages, a React component and AI search.

Each guide walks through one job from start to finish, with commands and code you can copy. For every option and setting, see the [docs](https://vagejs.com/docs/); for what vagejs can do, see [features](https://vagejs.com/features/).

## Before you build

Picking a tool, or starting from a design you already have.

- ### [How to choose a static site generator for AI coding assistants](https://vagejs.com/guides/static-site-generator-for-ai-coding-assistants/)

For anyone picking a tool before an AI assistant such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor builds their site. A checklist with a quick test for each point, a one-hour test drive, and the common mistakes.

- ### [How to turn a Figma design into a website with AI](https://vagejs.com/guides/figma-to-website/)

For anyone with a design in Figma who wants it as a real site. Connects your AI assistant to Figma, builds a page from a frame link, and shows what needed a second pass in our test.

## Add to your site

Grow your site one step at a time.

- ### [How to build a multilingual static website](https://vagejs.com/guides/multilingual-static-site/)

For site owners adding a second language to a vagejs site. Covers the config line, translated pages and addresses, a language switcher, a translated menu and the check for missing translations.

- ### [How to add an interactive React component to a static site](https://vagejs.com/guides/interactive-react-component-static-site/)

For developers who need one part of a page to respond to visitors. Builds a working price calculator with MDX and `client:visible`, then checks what it costs in JavaScript.

- ### [How to make your website visible in AI search](https://vagejs.com/guides/ai-search-visibility/)

For any site owner who wants to show up in ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity search. Checks what crawlers can reach, sets the `robots.txt` rules, removes hidden blocks and tests the live site after each deploy.

## Where to start

New to vagejs? Read [how to choose a static site generator for AI coding assistants](https://vagejs.com/guides/static-site-generator-for-ai-coding-assistants/) first.

It explains what to look for when an AI assistant does the typing, and it ends with a test drive that starts a vagejs site. The Figma, multilingual and React component guides each begin from a vagejs site, so once you have one, pick the guide for the job in front of you. The AI search guide works for any website.

## Questions about the vagejs guides

### Which version of vagejs do the guides need?

The multilingual guide needs vagejs 0.10 or newer, and the React component guide needs 0.11 or newer. Start a new site with `npm create vagejs@latest my-site`, or update one you already have with `npm install vagejs@latest`. vagejs itself needs Node.js 22.12 or newer.

### Do I need a vagejs site before I start a guide?

For three of them, yes: the Figma, multilingual and React component guides each start from a vagejs site. The guide on choosing a static site generator doesn't, and its test drive shows you how to start one. The AI search guide works for any website, with extra steps for vagejs sites.

### How do I ask for a guide that isn't here?
